This is a story about Ukraine seeking retaliation against Russia using a massive hydrogen bomb.

In 1961, Russia developed and detonated the world's largest thermonuclear weapon, a 58 Megaton bomb, over 3000 times more powerful than the bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In secret, Russia built two of these weapons and stored the second bomb in a nuclear storage facility for 28 years, where it was nearly forgotten.

In 1989, as retribution for the extensive abuses and suffering Ukraine experienced at the hands of Russia, Ukrainian soldiers at the facility decided to steal the bomb and use it to obliterate Moscow. They were successful in acquiring the bomb, but failed to detonate it, leaving it hidden.

It wasn't until 2022 that Russia discovered the missing bomb and found that those responsible had immigrated to the USA. Putin asked the President for help from the FBI in finding the criminals.

At the President's request, the FBI assigned a top field agent of Ukrainian descent, Peter Kanowsky, to oversee the search team in the USA. During his investigation, Peter not only learned the location of the bomb and how to set it off, but was also emotionally affected by the suffering that Russia had imposed upon Ukraine.

Influenced by the emigres he interviewed and his own family, Peter felt it was his duty to his Ukrainian ancestry to go to Moscow and personally detonate the bomb. His plans aligned with an ongoing high-level Russian plot, but he wanted to set off the bomb immediately, while they wanted him to wait for three months for the perfect time to coincide with a big celebration in Moscow for Putin’s 70th birthday.

With the assistance of a beautiful and persuasive woman, they convinced Peter to wait. The story ends with a question: Happy Birthday President Putin from Ukraine, or maybe not?
